Why is it called the 101?

We’re going to start at the beginning to make sure there’s no confusion or misconceptions about what body acceptance is or isn’t. You can come with any - or no level understanding of body acceptance and still benefit

Lesson 1 - Breaking free and building curiosity

Breaking free: getting rid of old expectations, the pressure to look a certain way, diet rules - plus ditching all those ‘shoulds’ that hold us back and make us feel bad. Time to let go…

Building curiosity: it’s impossible to be judgemental when you’re being curious. What body acceptance looks like for you? What does eating look like in your world? What does confidence feel like? We’re going to explore…

It seems like every day there’s a new quick fix out there to solve our body woes. It’s no wonder we’ve got no confidence around food and lost trust in our bodies to tell us how to feel good. Trust me, I used to be a walking dieting encyclopedia. Name a diet and I’ve tried it. I was obsessed with changing my body and spent years looking for ‘the one’ (diet to solve all my perceived problems, not love match).

But you don’t need a magic wand to make your insecurities go away.

I’m going to show you how increased understanding, an open mind and an inkling of rebel spirit will give you the first steps on your very own yellow brick road to loving your body and living your life.

In my private coaching practice, I see clients all the time who don’t know where to start. They feel lost and trapped in a cycle of diets then giving up. They can’t see how loving their body is possible.

In this first lesson on the 101 of body acceptance, I’ll be sharing my knowledge and giving you tools on these two sections of learning - with one building on the other.

1. Breaking free

  • Understand what negative stories are holding you back and how to let go of them

  • Turn down the noise in your world to start to work out your own starting point to this journey of acceptance

  • Remove judgement and grow in confidence on this path to freedom

2. Building curiosity

  • Discover how curiosity is the key to unlocking self-compassion

  • Understand why body acceptance isn’t giving up

  • Gain helpful tricks and techniques to stop fighting your body and ask yourself what you really need

  • Learn how mindfulness can change negative thoughts to helpful ones

  • Find new confidence around food and learn how to stop seeing it as the enemy

  • Scope and take away your own personal action plan so can continue this work after the workshop
